Lodi Elks Lodge No. 1900 honored veterans on Memorial Day by providing a free lunch for all veterans at their Lodge. Afterwards they held a ceremony at the Masonic Cemetary. Guest Speaker, Gilbert Woehl, World War II prisoner of war, spoke about his experiences to an audience who were mostly veterans. The Boy Scouts Troop No. 291 placed the flags and set up the chairs earlier that day for this event.

The Lodi Community Band, lead by Bob Gross, played patriotic music and theme songs from all the military branches. The Elk volunteers who made this event successful were: Dave Binning, Carolyn Greeson, Pauline Meyer, Nancy Politano, Nancy Sanguinetti, Mike and Eileen Dugan, Suzanne Henderson, Hal Laney, Jeff Lodi, Gerry Lokey, Roger Hushour, Steve Brackney, Dick Griffith, Dottie Thompson, Mary Avanti and Connie Norton.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
