Members and special guests of Lodi Historical Society celebrated its 25th anniversary with a delicious brunch on Nov. 3 at Woodbridge Golf and Country Club. Maria Elena Serna, 1988 charter president, and Corinne Terry, 2013 president, co-chaired the event.
Special guest speaker Alan Nakanishi, mayor of the city of Lodi, reviewed the early history of Lodi, and Ken Vogel, chairman of board of supervisors, district 4, spoke on the importance of community preservation.
Rosa Mae Hacker is the recipient of the prestigious Mokelumne Award for 2013. She has been an active member and volunteer for many years. Hacker works on numerous committees and reorganized the membership roster. She works on assembling and mailing the monthly newsletter and the publication “The Historian.”
The 2014 officers installed are: Marlo Preszler, president; Hank Wright, vice president; Corinne Terry, treasurer; Mary Jane East, recording secretary; Judith Halstead, newsletter editor; Rosa Mae Hacker, membership chair. Board members are: Ron Bianchi, Jim Finch, Karin Johnson, Donna LaRoe, Ron Marien, Jackie Perry, Loren Perry, Norma Reeves, Janice Roth, Kathleen Schlenker, Maria Elena Serna, Frank Sumersille, Virginia Sumersille, Barbara Wakeham, LaVerne Walth and Vern Weigum.
