Leah Friedman, a member of Cloud 7 Assembly of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, has been appointed as a representative to the Grand Executive Committee, Grand Representative to South Carolina and Virgina, and Grand Historian for the Rainbow year 2013-14.

As a representative to the Grand Executive Committee, Friedman will participate in the development of policies that will guide state wide Rainbow activities. As Grand Representative to South Carolina and Virgina, Friedman will travel to both states as a representative of California Rainbow and participate in their grand assemblies and other events.

As Grand Historian, Friedman will gather information about state-wide Rainbow events and prepare an account of Rainbow assembly activities and the travels of the Grand Worthy Advisor. The appointments were made during the annual California Grand Assembly held in Fresno on March 23 to 25. Friedman is a past worthy adviser of Cloud 7 Assembly, which meets at the Woodbridge Masonic Center, and is a senior at Linden High School. She is the daughter of Liz Friedman, of Stockton.

The international Order of the Rainbow for Girls is an international organization that is open to all girls ages 11 through 20. The goal of the organization is to prepare the girls of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls teaches leadership skills and public speaking through community service. It builds self-respect, confidence, poise and character, all while providing a fun and safe environment for girls to meet other girls their age and to build friendships that will last a lifetime.
