Lion Larry Dold was recently inducted as the Lodi Lions Club’s 74th president for the 2013-14 year. Larry, owner of Tokay Medical Billing, officially began his presidency on July 1.

Completing the Lodi Lions Club board are Lions Russell Smith, first vice-president; Mark Massa, second vice-president; Susie Klusman, third vice-president; Past-president Mike O’Connell, secretary; Scott Meyer, treasurer; Alicia Brosterhous and Jonathan Strong, one-year directors; Xavier Garza and Wayne Moore, two-year directors; Past-president Grant Fletcher, membership director; Don Bricker, tail twister; Matt Blote, Lion tamer; and Jill DeHerrera, immediate past-president.

A member of the Lodi Lions Club since 2000, Larry and his wife Pat are the parents of two daughters, Amy Dold and Kelly Wolfe. Larry is looking forward to serving as president in the upcoming year, leading the club in providing service to the community in addition to helping those in need with vision related services.

Lions Club International is the largest service club organization in the world with more than 1.35 million members in 46,000 clubs within 207 countries and geographic areas. Lions clubs are supported by the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF), which helps fund Lions humanitarian projects.

Lions want everyone to see a better tomorrow by supporting sight programs and services including vision screenings, eye banks and eyeglass recycling and by providing eye care services for the underprivileged and to those at risk of losing their sight.

Locally, in addition to vision and hearing related services, the Lodi Lions club provides college scholarships, participates in the Lions Youth Exchange program and the Lions Student Speaker contest, and is involved in many projects throughout the community. These include the construction of the Lodi Memorial Hospital heliport, Emerson Park renovation, LOEL Senior Center gardens, Lodi House and 180 Teen Center refurbishment projects, to name but a few.

The Lodi Lions Club meets every Wednesday at noon in the Frank Johnson/Burgundy Hall at the Lodi Grape Festival grounds. Anyone interested in more information regarding the Lodi Lions Club, please contact Lion Grant Fletcher at 333-4500.
