Girl Scout Troop 130 spent a weekend camp out learning all about Fire! Girls from 2nd grade through 7th grade learned 3 different ways to waterproof matches, make three kinds of easy light fire starters and learn the properties of three different kinds of fire building methods.
The girls started fires using flint and steel, wooden matches and the hand drill method. They used their knowledge to build a camp fire, roast s’mores and cook dinner in a dutch oven. Girl Scouts is available to girls from Kindergarten through high school.
