Soroptimist International of Lodi installed new officers for 2014-15 on June 26 at the home of member Dr. Elizabeth Kass. The new board was installed by Sierra Pacific Region Governor Pat Jones. The new board includes members of the current clubs, Soroptimist International of Lodi and Lodi Sunrise. These two clubs have joined forces and will be known as Soroptimist International of Lodi. Soroptimist International of Lodi was formed in 1945 and they chartered Soroptimist International of Lodi Sunrise in 1989.

The officers installed for 2014-15 are Marcia Pothast and Dr. Elizabeth Kass as co-presidents, Deb Miller as vice president, Lynn Hendricks and Judy Dolyniuk as co-treasurer; Dorothea Madamba as corresponding secretary; Jerri Fowler as recording secretary and Maxine Crow and Germaine Burke as directors.

The new club year begins on Sept. 9 at Richmaid Restaurant. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from September through June.

The name Soroptimist means “best for women.” The organization’s mission is "Soroptimist improves the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment."
