In the 48 hours after 9 a.m. Saturday, the Lodi Police Department handled 326 calls for service. The following is a sample of police and fire calls received by dispatchers:
11:24 a.m. — A small child was wandering in the road in the 300 block of Hilborn Street.
Drunk at 'Bark for Life'
11:27 a.m. — A drunken transient kept bothering people who were participating in the "Bark for Life" event at Lawrence Park, 350 N. Washington St.
11:31 a.m. — A man was yelling at nobody in particular while wandering down the middle of Miwok Drive.
1:10 p.m. — Someone stole a tan 2009 GMC Sierra in the 1100 block of Chianti Drive.
Picnic table dispute
1:11 p.m. — People were arguing about reserved picnic tables at Emerson Park, 11 N. Hutchins St. Police mediated the situation and the groups came to an agreement.
1:46 p.m. — People were fighting and jumping on cars in the 100 block of East Lockeford Street.
3:46 p.m. — Parole agents were chasing a wanted parolee in the 300 block of Donner Drive. The man was soon taken into custody.
5:52 p.m. — An aggressive tan terrier was chasing people in the 600 block of North School Street.
Father vs. son
5:55 p.m. — A father and a son were fighting in the 300 block of West Turner Road.
6:53 p.m. — A drunken Ayers Avenue man was making violent threats against neighbors.
8:44 p.m. — Two people, one male and one female, were fighting in the 300 block of Mission Street.
11:25 p.m. — A large crowd had gathered at California Street Pub, 300 N. California St., and someone thought the bar was over capacity. Police walked through and determined the business was in compliance.
12:06 a.m. — A female was sitting on a couch that was being pulled by a truck at Sacramento and Village streets, and all involved people were being quite loud. Police advised them to keep the noise down, and to keep the couch off the street.
Indecent exposure, with alcohol
12:29 a.m. — A woman in a short black dress was exposing herself and refusing to leave California Street Pub, 300 N. California St. She was arrested for public intoxication.
12:46 a.m. — Someone was robbed by four females, one of whom had a knife, in the 1100 block of South Cherokee Lane.
1:03 a.m. — A drunken driver was stopped at Mendocino Drive and Church Street.
1:11 a.m. — After being battered at Hutchins and Walnut streets, a teenage boy went to the hospital with head pain and a laceration to the hand.
2:36 a.m. — A bald man was stealing alcohol in the 2400 block of West Kettleman Lane.
Out-of-area homicide investigation
2:43 a.m. — A Lodi resident's vehicle was involved in a homicide in another city, so Lodi police were asked to contact the registered owner and put him in contact with investigators.
Beer trip gone bad
4:32 a.m. — Around 1 a.m. a Murray Street resident had let a man named "Daryl" take a silver 2002 Honda to get some beer. "Daryl" never returned.
Yelling at nobody
1:06 p.m. — Mental health issues were suspected because a man was yelling at nobody in the 500 block of East Kettleman.
Crying over a computer
3:41 p.m. — A crying South Central Avenue woman called police, saying her computer had told her she was involved in counterfeit money. It turned out that she was installing Microsoft Office and it gave her a standard warning that she must have a legitimate, licensed copy of the program. She did, so all was well for now.
6:42 p.m. — A brother and a sister were fighting in the 800 block of Sylvia Drive.
6:52 p.m. — Four people were fighting at Elm and Sacramento streets.
8:17 p.m. — Someone was assaulted behind Payless Liquors, 101 N. Sacramento St.
8:57 p.m. — Child abuse was reported.
9:09 p.m. — Someone showed up at the hospital after being assaulted at Elm and Sacramento streets.
10:36 p.m. — A home was burglarized in the 400 block of North Loma Drive, and a soon-to-be-ex spouse was suspected.
12:12 a.m. — Possible gang members were yelling obscenities at someone from inside a gold Chevrolet Suburban. It was last seen heading north on Central Avenue from Concord Street.
