Since 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department received 160 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:
Sidewalk hogging: 9:15 a.m. — Three males and one female were blocking the sidewalk with their stuff and shopping cart in the 500 block of South Cherokee Lane.
Druggie litterbugs: 9:33 a.m. — A woman wanted to speak with an officer about some items she found outside her home and the continuous drug activity in the 200 block of West Elm Street.
The Supreme Being lives in Lodi: 9:43 a.m. — A man requested federal police and said he is God in the 0 block of South Main Street. He asked for protection for himself and his son.
Playing some fruit ball: 11:42 a.m. — Juveniles were playing ball on the caller's lawn, and then started to throw fruit at her house in the 200 block of East Vine Street.
Ongoing fiasco: 11:45 a.m. — A caller saw subjects trespassing into a vacant residence and the "latest fiasco" was when someone tried to steal a washing machine in the 200 block of Flora Street.
Claiming a new doghouse: 1:08 p.m. — A small dog that was non-aggressive ran into a caller's garage and would not leave in the 600 block of Sturla Street.
Skitching the Grapevine: 3:58 p.m. — A group of four juveniles on skateboards were "skitching" the city's Grapevine bus. Skitching is where boarders grab onto rear bumpers and get a free ride.
Car theft: 6:18 p.m. — Two customers stole a silver Chevy suburban from a parking lot in the 2700 block of West Kettleman Lane.
Delivery room drama: 8:31 p.m. — There was a verbal fight when a new mother was upset with the name that was on her baby's cart and staff refused to change it, in the 900 block of South Fairmont Avenue.
Egging prank: 1:27 a.m. — A caller complained when two males threw eggs at her house and car in the 1000 block of Miwok Drive.
Really? You really stole the newspaper boy's bike?: 7:14 a.m. — A 16-year-old had his bike stolen while he was delivering newspapers in the 2200 block of Scarborough Drive.
