In the 48 hours after 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department handled 281 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:
10:11 a.m. - Someone burglarized a home during the night in the 200 block of East Tokay Street.
11:19 a.m. - Hoses with brass fittings were stolen from several businesses near Cluff Avenue and Turner Road.
12:39 p.m. - Someone embezzled from Geweke Ford/Mercury, 1045 S. Cherokee Lane.
1:12 p.m. - Three males were suspected of burglarizing a home in the 0-100 block of South Crescent Avenue. They left 30 minutes earlier in a black Chevrolet Camaro.
Man with bow and arrow
1:17 p.m. - A shirtless man was holding a bow and arrow while standing in the center divider under the railroad overpass on Turner Road near Stockton Street. He was gone by the time officers arrived.
1:39 p.m. - An inmate was suspected of using his handcuffs to scratch letters into the jury box, which also serves as a defendant holding area, at the Lodi branch of San Joaquin County Superior Court, 217 W. Elm St. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for review of possible charges.
2:22 p.m. - People got into a physical fight at Millswood Middle School, 233 N. Mills Ave.
3:10 p.m. - Two adults and two children were shooting birds with a BB-gun in the 1300 block of South Washington Street, and a dead bird was in a yard. All of them denied shooting at birds and said they only shot targets; officers advised them of laws and gun hazards.
What to do with knives?
3:55 p.m. - A patient had three switchblade knives at Lodi Memorial Hospital, 975 S. Fairmont Ave. They - the knives, not the people involved - were locked in a hospital safe until police could give some advice about what to do.
Alarm sounding while driving
5:20 p.m. - A white Lincoln Navigator's alarm was sounding as it headed south in the 300 block of South Lower Sacramento Road. Two women were in the vehicle.
7:20 p.m. - An employee and a patron got into a physical fight inside Wong's Mandarin Restaurant, 119 E. Pine St. The patron soon left.
7:39 p.m. - A man dressed completely in black clothing stole a camcorder from Big Lots, 380 S. Cherokee Lane. The suspect, who was wearing black Converse shoes, was last seen heading north.
8:44 p.m. - A 19-year-old was accused of choking a 6-year-old Hilborn Street neighbor.
Man without pants
10:10 p.m. - A man dressed only in a dark brown coat was asking for money on Wyndham Way. When asked why he wasn't wearing pants, he said someone had stolen them.
10:26 p.m. - A father and his 21-year-old daughter got into a fight on Hummingbird Drive. He'd served her with an eviction notice on Nov. 17 but she was still refusing to leave.
1:39 a.m. - A male broke a window during a family altercation in the 900 block of York Street.
Hazardous cart pusher
8:46 a.m. - An elderly man was pushing a shopping cart in the middle of the street as he headed west in 700 block of East Pine Street.
Argument + warrant = arrest
10:20 a.m. - A male and a female were arguing at Wal-Mart, 2350 W. Kettleman Lane. The 20-year-old man was arrested on a warrant.
12:06 p.m. - Boys were throwing grapefruits at passing vehicles from a bus stop at Ham Lane and Oak Street.
12:50 p.m. - A man wasn't wearing pants at the Post Office, 120 S. School St. It turned out that he was wearing trousers, but they had fallen down.
Girl with knife
1:03 p.m. - A girl possibly had a knife up her sleeve near the former Mervyns, 530 W. Kettleman Lane.
Who's missing a car?
1:10 p.m. - A woman just bought a foreclosed home in the 1300 block of West Century Boulevard, and a car was parked in the garage even though the house had been empty for two years. Police tried unsuccessfully to contact the registered owner and suggested that the woman call her Realtor or a tow truck.
Hazardous motor home
2:53 p.m. - A Tioga motor home was swerving as it headed west on Kettleman Lane near Ham Lane.
Upset under a staircase
3:07 p.m. - An 8-year-old was out of control under a staircase inside Twin Arbors Athletic Club, 1900 S. Hutchins St.
9:16 p.m. - Two vehicles that weren't known to the area were parked in the 300 block of Shady Acres Drive. Someone was arrested on a warrant.
DUI driver vs. stop sign
12:35 a.m. - A woman crashed into a stop sign at Mills Avenue and Lockeford Street, then left the scene carrying a large bag. The 29-year-old was found and arrested for drunken driving, hit-and-run and failing to stop.
Runaway from school
8:32 a.m. - A 15-year-old girl ran away from Lodi Middle School, 945 S. Ham Lane.
