Between the hours of 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department received 168 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:


Fast driver: 1:41 p.m. — Someone reported seeing a car driving at an excessive speed by Food-4-Less on the 2000 block of South Lower Sacramento Road.

Curious about cans: 3:33 p.m. — A man on a bike was seen going through garbage cans on the 3300 block of Brittany Lane.

Smoky sight: 4:21 p.m. — Someone could see smoke coming from the vents and smell gas on the 400 block of Forest Avenue.

Grab and go: 5:45 p.m. — A man and woman on bikes took a skateboard and then dropped it when neighbors yelled at them on the 1100 block of Green Oaks Way.

Loiterers: 7:06 p.m. — People were seen loitering in an alley behind the park on the 600 block of North Pleasant Avenue.

Explosion: 8:43 p.m. — A loud explosion was heard on the 2200 block of West Vine Street.

Loud man: 11:27 p.m. — A loud male with no shirt was heard yelling about not having the money to pay his bills on the 700 block of East Kettleman Lane.


Mailbox misfits: 5:48 a.m. — A male and female were seen checking mailboxes on the 700 block of South Stockton Street.

Arguing men: 5:53 a.m. — Males were seen yelling at each other at Applebees on the 2400 block of West Kettleman Lane.
