In the 24 hours after 9 a.m. Thursday, the Lodi Police Department handled 158 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:

Thursday

Not a disabled solicitor

9:39 a.m. - A woman affiliated with "Helping Hand" was soliciting without permission at Safeway, 2449 W. Kettleman Lane, and had made her own parking space next to a disabled spot. Officers handed her a $370 ticket for violating disabled parking rules.

Grand Theft

9:42 a.m. - Property valued at more than $400 was stolen from inside a vehicle at Lodi Academy, 1230 S. Central Ave.

Gangster Gathering

3:33 p.m. - Thirty possible gang members were gathering at Blakely Park, 1050 S. Stockton St.

Chair pieces in a tree

4:51 p.m. - Two boys and a girl tore a chair apart and threw the pieces in a tree at the former Mervyns, 530 W. Kettleman Lane. Police found the youths and had them throw the debris in the trash.

Staring Men

7:16 p.m. - A dark Honda stopped at Shangri La Asian Bistro, 203 S. School St., and two men inside stared at a woman and her daughter.

Naked fight, or maybe not?

8:45 p.m. - Three people got into a fight and one person was lying naked in the street on Louie Avenue near Church Street. When officers arrived they found no disturbance and no naked people.

Christmas tree fire

9:38 p.m. - Two men set a Christmas tree on fire at Lodi Lake, 1301 W. Turner Road. The tree was in a fire pit and presented no hazard.

Hazardous Driver

10:29 p.m. - A red car was driving in the wrong lane and ran a red light on Harney Lane and Stockton Street.

Fight, warrant included

10:56 p.m. - Two males were fighting, with one holding the other in a gutter at Hutchins and Locust streets. Someone was ultimately arrested on a warrant.

Another Fight

10:58 p.m. - Two men got into a physical fight in the 1000 block of South Central Avenue. One man left and the other, whose face was bleeding, was lying in a yard. He was conscious and taken to the hospital. Alcohol was apparently involved.

Friday

Standing at a drive-thru

12:10 a.m. - A suspicious man was standing at the drive-thru window of Jack in the Box, 419 W. Lodi Ave. He was still there when police arrived, and he agreed to leave.

Camping in the city

8:06 a.m. - People in a motor home were using utilities from a residence in the 900 block of York Street. They had previously been talked to about camping within city limits.

Drugs at school

8:51 a.m. - Someone had drugs at Lodi High School, 3 S. Pacific Ave.
