Between the hours of 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department received 170 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Truant: 8:03 a.m. — An 11-year-old child refused to go to school on the 800 block of Lloyd Street.

Transients: 10:21 a.m. — Three men and a woman were "living/camping" with blankets on the front porch of a hotel on the 700 block of South Cherokee Lane.

Might check on that: 11:46 a.m. — Someone got a call from the IRS that another person had used their Social Security number and filed taxes in their name on the 500 block of North Ham Lane.

Messy: 12:39 p.m. — An employee called in about someone who keeps leaving garbage outside the shops on the 600 block of West Kettleman Lane.

Boom: 6:28 p.m. — Fireworks were heard in the area near the 0 block of Genie Way.

Did she get one?: 7 p.m. — An older woman wearing a bathrobe asked someone for a cigarette on the 1100 block of Fairmont, then kept walking.

Theft: 7:55 p.m. — Two cellphone chargers were stolen from a store on the 2400 block of West Kettleman Lane.


Hit: 12:11 a.m. — A 25-year-old man was injured after he was hit with a metal bar on the 300 block of South Central Avenue.

Door open: 2:50 a.m. — A caller thinks he left his garage door open on the 900 block of south Hutchins Street and wanted the police to go check.

Ninja: 5:42 a.m. — A man in all black was seen under a trailer on the 600 block of Lockeford Street.
