Between 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Wednesday, the Lodi Police Department recieved 299 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.
Bookworm: 11:57 a.m. — A man was sleeping near the library's book drop in the 200 block of Locust Street.
Guerilla laundry: 1:17 p.m. — A water sprinkler timer and laundry room items were stolen from an apartment building on the 500 block of Almond Drive.
Mmm, donut dreams: 2:08 p.m. — A man was sleeping on the sidewalk outside the donut shop on the 400 block of south Cherokee Lane.
The reciept says no: 2:57 p.m.— A man called the police from Kmart on the 500 block of South Cherokee Lane because the store would not accept an item he was trying to return.
Block party: 3:33 p.m. — Six girls were reportedly fighting on the 200 block of South Pleasant Street.
Can't you read?: 5:56 p.m. — A caller said someone was trespassing on his property and tearing down his "No Trespassing" signs on the 800 block of East Turner Road.
Strap it in: 7:36 p.m. — A purse was stolen from a shopping cart on the 2300 block of West Kettleman lane.
Not invited: 11:43 p.m. — Four people were being loud in the pool area on the 1700 block of Sylvan Way
Dump and run: 4:47 a.m. — The occupants of a gray Chevy threw something out the window and took off along the 6000 block of East Kettleman Lane.
Rock the vote: 1:07 p.m. — A man in a backwards hat and a dark shirt was standing outside of a polling place on the 800 block of Lower Sacramento Road. The caller said he didn't belong there.
So many emotions: 1:17 p.m. — A man in a green sweatshirt was yelling at citizens, a dog and the sky on the 1300 block of Lower Sacramento Road.
Wacky tobaccy: 3:05 p.m. — A woman wanted an officer to check the tobacco she had just bought on the 200 block of South Sacramento Street. She suspected there was pot in it.
Hot boxing: 8:19 p.m. — A strong smell of marijuana was coming from a Cadillac and an El Camino on the 1100 block of Ham Lane.
Classy thief: 9:26 p.m. — A bottle of Barefoot wine and groceries were stolen on the 2400 block of West Kettleman Lane.
