Between the hours of 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday the Lodi Police Department received 142 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Stop screaming: 8:32 a.m. — Two males were yelling at people in the 0 block of North Stockton Street.

I must have this wallet: 10:52 a.m. — A man was running away from a business in the 500 block of West Kettleman Lane after stealing a wallet.

Misplacing a gun: 12:54 p.m. — A man was in the lobby to report a lost handgun in the 300 block of North Fairmont Avenue.

Scary driver: 3:14 p.m. — There was a white truck swerving all over the road in the 800 block of South Ham Lane.

How much can you fit in a beanie?: 3:27 p.m. — Security was called after following a shoplifter who was hiding a portable DVD player and other items in his beanie in the 2300 block of West Kettleman Lane. The man had a knife that he was using to cut open packages and has a history of getting in arguments with security.

Unhappy with the tranquil, trickling sound: 7:10 p.m. — A man was throwing "cement rocks at a fountain" in the middle of the street in the 700 block of North California Street.


Those look familiar: 12 a.m. — A man had his camera lenses stolen while at a bar two days ago, and found the items listed for sale on Craigslist in the 200 block of North Cluff Avenue.

Preparing for his next UFC fight: 6:51 a.m. — A suspicious man was walking back and forth in the 800 block of Brandywine Drive and boxing into the air.
