Between the hours of 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday, the Lodi Police Department received 153 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Lewd and rude: 9:13 a.m. — A man grabbed his crotch and asked a passing woman if she was interested on the 800 block of Hutchins St.

Break in: 9:24 a.m. — A car was broken into last night on the 1600 block of Sutter Ln.

No fun here: 12:02 p.m. — A group was playing handball against the outside of a building on the 100 block of Main St. and the owner wants them to stop.

Cut the grass: 12:15 p.m. — A man told his neighbor the front lawn needed to be mowed, and the neighbor cussed at him on the 800 block of Oak Knoll Way.

Books for sale: 2:05 p.m. — A woman was trying to sell books on the 1900 block of Capell Dr.

A different fertilizer: 3:07 p.m. — A group of school children were standing on the corner spitting on the lawn and sidewalk on the 1700 block of Lockeford St.

No idling: 7:06 p.m. — A lawn mower was left running against a fence on the 600 block of St. Claire Dr.

Slow that Mustang down: 9:33 p.m — An older blue Mustang was driving recklessly and swerving on the road on the 600 block of Turner Rd.

Hooligans: 9:45 p.m. — Subjects were trying to break streetlights on the 500 block of Garfield St.


Unwelcome visitor: 4:44 a.m. — A caller found a man in his backyard on the 1000 block of Lincoln Ave.
