Between the hours of 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department received 171 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Can I have a light?: 9:52 a.m. — A man with a backpack was seen going up to doors and asking for a "light" on the 800 block of South Mills Avenue.

Mysterious pumpkin: 1:09 p.m. — A pumpkin was discovered in between two houses on the 2600 block of Paradise Drive.

Squatter: 12:14 p.m. — A man was seen squatting and beginning to use the bathroom outside in an alley on the 500 block of Eden Street.

Dangerous man: 6:08 p.m. — A man with a knife in his hand was seen acting as if he would throw the knife at passing vehicles on the 100 block of West Turner Road.

Parking lot trouble: 8:36 p.m. — Nine people were seen smoking marijuana in a parking lot on the 2400 block of Oxford Way.

Traffic cones: 8:48 p.m. — Someone drove through traffic cones which knocked them down on the 2200 block of West Turner Road.
