Between the hours of 8 a.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday, the Lodi Police Department received 194 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Go home: 8:59 a.m. — A woman was released from the Lodi jail on the 200 block of Elm Street but refused to leave.

Hold your breath: 10:14 a.m. — A strong smell of natural gas was reported outside a home on the 600 block of Crescent Avenue.

Whose blood?: 10:46 a.m. — The door was open on a car parked on the 400 block of Church Street and there was blood inside.

Stay in the car: 11:57 a.m. — A woman was trying to exit a car while it was still moving, but the male driver pulled her back in on the 0 block of Locust Street.

Why not take it all?: 1:48 p.m. — A woman placed an old lawnmower and microwave in her driveway for recycling pickup. She noticed someone took the lawnmower but left the microwave on the 1800 block of Wren Court.

Theft: 2:31 p.m. — A catalytic converter was stolen on the 400 block of Swallow Lane.

Neo can't hold his liquor: 4:22 p.m. — A drunk man in a long trench coat was staggering on the lawn of a residence on the 1600 block of Victor Road.

Harry Potter is not a cop: 5:35 p.m. — A woman said someone from the police department was stalking her and practicing witchcraft on her on the 400 block of Cross Street.

Maybe ablaze: 6:56 p.m. — A Christmas tree was possibly on fire in the middle of the street on the 700 block of Garfield Street.

Late caller: 9:09 p.m. — A drunk man was banging on the door of a business on the 500 block of Cherokee Lane.

Troublesome trees: 10:48 p.m. — Six Christmas trees were piled in the intersection and causing a hazard on the 1300 block of Mills Avenue.

Burglary: 12:52 a.m. — The window was broken out of a truck and a man seen inside on the 400 block of Porta Rosa Way.

Suspicious: 2:56 a.m. — Two people were walking on the 1200 block of Elm Street, and a caller thought they were stealing sprinklers.
