In the 48 hours after 9 a.m. Sunday, the Lodi Police Department made 24 arrests and handled 287 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:

Tuesday

Injured Bird

2:37 a.m.: A large buzzard was injured and lying in a yard in the 800 block of South California Street.

Misplaced goal net

2:42 a.m.: A soccer goal net was on the median of Lower Sacramento Road near Vine Street.

Drunken Crash

3:28 a.m.: Nobody was injured when a drunken driver crashed in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Scarborough Drive.

Domestic Fight

4:07 a.m.: A drunken, curly-haired woman was starting a fight and damaging property during a domestic altercation in the 400 block of Daisy Avenue.

Monday

Speeding Motorcycle

1:20 a.m.: A motorcyclist was traveling at 80 mph on Lodi Avenue near Mills Avenue. The 19-year-old rider, who also had a warrant, was arrested.

Grand Theft

6:17 a.m.: A contract employee was detained for theft of more than $400 at S-Mart Foods, 530 W. Lodi Ave.

3:39 p.m.: Property valued at more than $400 was stolen in the 700 block of North Sacramento Street.

Stolen Vehicles

6:26 a.m.: A 1995 green Honda Accord disappeared during the night in the 500 block of Swallow Lane. The owner found it around the corner three hours later.

7:50 a.m.: Someone stole a maroon 1994 Dodge Caravan in the 400 block of Almond Drive.

8:09 p.m.: A 1995 Saturn was stolen from the parking lot near the Merlot, 23 W. Elm St.

Drunken Parker

7:17 a.m.: A pick-up truck was taking up two spaces in the emergency room parking lot at Lodi Memorial Hospital, 975 S. Fairmont Ave., and the sleeping driver was not responded. The man was drunk.

School Vandalism

9:58 a.m.: Someone vandalized Lawrence School, 721 Calaveras St.

Harassment

10:15 a.m.: A student was being sexually harassed by other students at Millswood Middle School, 233 N. Mills Ave.

Employee Firing

1:39 p.m.: An irate employee was being fired at Garry's Lounge, 13 S. School St.

Custody Advice

4:07 p.m.: A man went to police to ask if he could "surprise" his children by taking them out of school without telling his ex.

Vehicle Collision

6:51 p.m.: No major injuries were reported when a vehicle hit a pedestrian at Vintage West Apartments, 1826 S. Hutchins St.

Expletive Yeller

7:14 p.m.: A woman, who was possibly under the influence of drugs, was yelling obscenities as she walked west on Lodi Avenue near Church Street.

Fight with weapons

7:25 p.m.: Seven females and a male were fighting in the 200 block of East Vine Street. Some had baseball bats, some had knives and then the female driver left in a brown car. A 40-year-old woman was arrested for battery, weapons violations and driving under the influence.

Druken driving crash

7:54 p.m.: The unlicensed drunken driver of a black Ford truck left the scene of a non-injury collision at Walnut Street and Central Avenue. He went into a home in the 400 block of East Pine Street and was arrested.

Sunday

Returning Thieves

10:30 a.m.: Three teens stole merchandise from Chevron, 601 E. Kettleman Lane, and left in a white Ford Escort. They returned two hours later, and an 18-year-old man was arrested for theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Brotherly Fight

12:47 p.m.: Two brothers, ages 16 and 19, were fighting in the 300 block of Forrest Avenue. One of them had a warrant.

Train Climbers

1:03 p.m.: People were climbing over a train at Lodi Avenue. It was not clear if they were going over the actual cars or the couplings.

Beer Pouring

2:38 p.m.: A woman poured beer on her neighbor after he tried to collect a debt from her at Century Plaza Apartments, 320 W. Century Blvd.

Gun Brandishing

3:26 p.m.: A red-haired man with severe acne pulled a gun on a vehicle at Lodi Avenue and Ham Lane.

Speeding Motorhome

5:35 p.m.: A motorhome was speeding up and down the road in the 400 block of Mission Street.

Suspicions lead to arrest

6:05 p.m.: When a man went to police to tell them about suspicious "full metal jacket slugs" he found in the road at Lower Sacramento and Turner roads, he was arrested on a warrant for driving under the influence.

Injured Bat

8:37 p.m.: An injured, possibly rabid, bat was in front of a home in the 2250 block of Scarborough Drive.

Fist Fight

8:52 p.m.: After starting a fist fight at El Tropical Club, 118 N. Sacramento St., a man got into a white pick-up truck. He was arrested for public intoxication.

Calling in drunk

9:20 p.m.: One day after her 37th birthday, a woman called police to say she was drunk at Central Avenue and Hilborn Street. Police took her to jail for public intoxication.
