Between the hours of 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Wednesday, the Lodi Police Department received 367 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:


Nap time: 8:44 a.m. — A homeless subject was sleeping in an apartment in the 0 block of Locust St.

Foraging: 10:49 a.m. — A subject with a dog and a bicycle was going through trash cans on the 500 block of Jasmine Drive.

Quartet: 11:39 a.m. — Four subjects were loitering outside and possibly selling drugs on the 0 block of Main St.

Possession: 11:50 a.m. — A seventh grade student was in possession of his father’s pocket knife to show friends at school, but no threats or acts of violence occurred on the 200 block of North Mills Ave.

Toking up: 12:50 p.m. — Ten juveniles with a dog were smoking marijuana by the basketball courts behind the senior center patio on the 11 block of Hutchins St.

Abuse: 2:56 p.m. — A man on a bike was hitting his dog on the 800 block of Garfield St.

Trouble on wheels: 3:20 p.m. — Juveniles were drinking in the skate park on the 110 block of Ham Ln.

Back to you: 8:36 p.m. — A man found a plaque belonging to the city while cleaning out his rental unit and returned it to the police station on the 200 block of West Elm St.

Bush sleeper: 9:11 p.m. — A man was lying in the bushes on the 0 block of Turner Rd.

Mail bag: 10:27 p.m. — A white bag with mail inside was taken from a front porch on the 700 block of Pleasant Ave.

Fists of fury: 11:36 p.m. — A woman was punching vehicles and attempting to open their doors on the 900 block of Holly Dr.


Theft: 3:45 a.m. — Wallets, spare change and two rifle replicas were stolen after a suspected entered a residence through a back window on the 1000 block of Awani Dr.

Disobedient 6-year-old: 8:04 a.m. — A parent of a 6-year-old asked for help when her son would not go to school in the 200 block of E. Tokay Street. She told dispatch she didn't know what to do.

Fighting females: 8:43 a.m. — Two women were in a physical fight and one of them said they had a gun in the 800 block of S. Washington Street.

Eviction mess: 11:35 a.m. — While tenants were being evicted from a rental in the 2900 block of Hazelwood Way, they started vandalizing the property.

Noon drinking: 12:35 p.m. — A man was passed out and two others were drinking in an alleyway in the 0 block of E. Elm Street.

Weird outfit for running: 2:04 p.m. — A man in a shirt and a tie was chasing another male in the 200 block of S. Crescent Avenue.

Post office scam: 2:28 p.m. — A elderly person kept receiving calls from a "postal inspector" who said he planned to stop by the caller's house later to collect information in the 1200 block of W. Century Boulevard.

Playing Tarzan: 5:38 p.m. — Seven kids were in a tree in the 700 block of Rutledge Drive.

Shoplifting: 8:18 p.m. — A woman was in custody for shoplifting at a store in the 500 block of W. Kettleman Lane.

Walking into traffic: 8:57 p.m. — A drunk male was stumbling into the roadway in front of traffic in the 200 block of E. Turner Road.

Good Samaritan: 11:26 p.m. — Someone found a wallet in front of a business in the 600 block of E. Lodi Avenue.

Drunk diners: 11:32 p.m. — Two males and a female were sitting in a corner of a restaurant eating, and the caller was concerned that they planned to get in a car and drive.


Early morning disturbance: 6:01 a.m. — A man heard noises outside his apartment and someone broke a light in the 900 block of S. Garfield Street.
