Since 8 a.m. Wednesday, the Lodi Police Department received 152 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:


Planning something?: 8:38 a.m. — A subject aroused suspicion on the 300 block of South Cherokee Lane after purchasing 17 gallons of acetone.

Rough night: 9:13 a.m. — A subject was passed out in a restroom on the 0 block of South Main Street.

Customer parking only: 11:05 a.m. — Police were called due to an ongoing problem with parking around businesses on the 500 block of South Main Street.

Beware of dog: 11:41 a.m. — A black and white pit bull was in front of a school on the 800 block of West Lockeford Street. The caller said the dog did not look vicious but they were still nervous because it was a pit bull.

They die out so fast: 12:35 p.m. — A white male wearing red shoes with dirty blonde hair shoplifted some batteries from the 500 block of South Cherokee Lane.

You'll put someone's eye out: 3:05 p.m. — A group of juveniles were throwing rocks from the caller's yard on the 400 block of West Lockeford Street.

Not typically how someone observes a neighborhood: 5:14 p.m. — A subject in a gray minivan was parked across from a mobile home park on the 800 block of East Turner Road and using binoculars to peer inside the area.

You gonna clean that up?: 6:52 p.m. — One male and two female juveniles were breaking bottles on the 1000 block of West Lodi Avenue.

Take those inside: 7:55 p.m. — A male and female were outside a bar drinking alcohol on the 0 block of South Main Street.

It fell off a truck, really: 9:18 p.m. — Broken furniture was slowing traffic and causing a hazard on the 600 block of East Turner Road near Highway 99.


Found dog: 6:19 a.m. — A yellow lab was found on the 1300 block of West Kettleman Lane. The subject dropped the dog off with police.
