In the 48 hours after 9 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department handled 317 calls for service. The following is a sample of police and fire calls received by dispatchers:
11:21 a.m. — Cameras were stolen in the 2200 block of Scarborough Drive.
12:52 p.m. — Four days after a trailer was supposed to be returned, it was reported stolen from U-Haul, 450 N. Cherokee Lane.
Not allowed to drive
2:38 p.m. — An East Vine Street woman's adult children took her keys so she wouldn't drive. An officer advised her to get tested by the Department of Motor Vehicles in order to resolve the issue.
3:58 p.m. — No serious injuries were reported, but traffic was snarled after a two-vehicle collision at Lodi Avenue and Church Street.
6:11 p.m. — Two males stole an iPhone 4 from AT&T, 2439 W. Kettleman Lane, and left in a Saturn.
6:32 p.m. — An unsupervised 3-year-old boy, who only wore a diaper, was wandering around near Cherokee Lane and Hilborn Street. Police contacted his parents, found no indications of drug or alcohol impairment and advised them about possible consequences.
Playing in traffic
7:02 p.m. — Five youths were pushing each other into traffic in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue.
7:43 p.m. — The young, possibly drunk, driver of a beige Volvo almost hit two people at the back of Lodi Lake, 1101 W. Turner Road.
8:16 p.m. — Someone had drugs at Lee Avenue and Elm Street.
Shirtless and staggering
8:23 p.m. — A shirtless man was wearing a scarf on his head while staggering around the 1800 block of Burgundy Drive.
8:51 p.m. — Two juveniles pulled a fire alarm at Needham School, 420 S. Pleasant Ave.
10:37 p.m. — Someone was climbing a telephone power in the 900 block of Golden Oak Drive. It was apparently a legitimate telephone company employee.
7:27 a.m. — Smoke was coming out of storm drains, so employees evacuated a building in the 1300 block of South Stockton Street.
10:07 a.m. — A man was continually driving by and honking at someone in the 400 block of East Kettleman Lane.
10:26 a.m. — Someone burglarized a home in the 400 block of Chestnut Street.
11:43 a.m. — A possum became ill in the 500 block of Cross Street.
Flower bed sleeper
12:24 p.m. — A transient was sleeping in a flower bed in the 500 block of South Cherokee Lane. He had parked two shopping carts full of items nearby.
2:49 p.m. — A window was broken and the house ransacked in the 200 block of North Crescent Avenue.
4:59 p.m. — A man on Foxborough Way was possibly involved in drugs, has a police siren on his vehicle and could be a danger to the community, and someone wanted police to be aware.
5:15 p.m. — Five people were in a fight with an older man in front of Shell at Hutchins Street and Kettleman Lane.
6:04 p.m. — Ten people were fighting in the 1000 block of South Stockton Street.
6:44 p.m. — Someone burglarized a home in the 1300 block of Midvale Road.
Worried about bodywork
6:54 p.m. — A Meadowlark Way man was doing bodywork on a vehicle, and a citizen was concerned that the house could explode because he was doing it with the doors closed. The citizen also worried that he might dump toxic waste down the storm drain, though that had not actually happened yet. Police talked to the man, who agreed to stop working on the vehicle.
Dog takes on cars
7:02 p.m. — An aggressive, unleashed pit bull charged at two passing vehicles in the 1100 block of South Mills Avenue.
8:46 p.m. — Six people were smoking marijuana from a bong and were growing marijuana plants on East Vine Street.
8:57 p.m. — People were throwing fireworks onto a Harold Street man's property.
9:20 p.m. — Soccer players were trespassing on the tennis courts at Peterson park, 199 Evergreen Drive.
9:23 p.m. — Grass caught fire north of Rivergate Drive. At 11:51 p.m. it caught fire again.
9:29 p.m. — Another grass fire was reported, this time on East Vine Street near the railroad tracks.
10:42 p.m. — A tenant was hitting apartment walls during a dispute with the manager in the 900 block of South Hutchins Street.
12:50 a.m. — Five people were loudly barbecuing in the 1200 block of South Central Avenue.
2:06 a.m. — Fireworks set off a building's alarm in the 200 block of South Central Avenue. No damage was found.
2:31 a.m. — Five or six youths were toilet papering a resident in the 2100 block of Seahawk Lane.
