From 8 a.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department received 437 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Living where you work: 10:22 a.m. — Someone hired a contractor who moved onto a work site and appears to be living out of a building in the 300 block of North Main Street.

Too much to drink: 11:55 a.m. — A woman was unresponsive and possibly had alcohol poisoning in the 800 block of Bel Air Court.

A machete?: 1:53 p.m. — A man who is on meth and is known to carry knives and a machete threatened to kill a caller and his father in the 1400 block of Voelker Drive.

Knocking on window: 4:58 p.m. — A transient male was jumping into traffic and banging on the windows of passersby on Kettleman Lane near the offramp.

Get tighter pants?: 6:34 p.m. — Someone was pick-pocketed and waiting inside a business at Lakewood Mall.

That's a weird smell: 6:59 p.m. —Someone smelled a strange chemical and thinks that someone is cooking meth in the 100 block of West Oak Street.

Threatening gang members: 8:42 p.m. — Six to seven males who said they were Nortenos were refusing to let a man in red and black checkered flannel into a business in the 0 block South Main Street.

Leaving child in the car to go drink: 11:10 p.m. — A child was sitting in a car seat in the back of a car, and the caller believes the parents are at a bar in the 2400 block of West Kettleman Lane.


Cigarettes are pricey: 1:09 a.m. — Someone heard a boom and thought people were trying to break into a cigarette store in the 500 block of Pioneer Drive.

That's one way to stop: 1:25 a.m. — Someone ran a car into a tree in the 200 block of West Lockeford Street.

Here batter batter batter: 1:58 a.m. — A man with a bat broke a caller's window and drove away in the 1400 block of South Sacramento Street.

Car theft: 4:37 a.m. — Someone stole a 1990 Honda Accord during the night in the 1300 block of South Central Avenue.

Playing around: 7:47 a.m. — Someone vandalized a playground in the 300 block of Culbertson Drive.

Art theft: 11:09 a.m. — Someone stole a bronze statue from a backyard in the 400 block of West Locust Street.

No smoking here: 1:45 p.m. — Someone wanted to report an adult who was buying cigarettes for minors in the 1700 block of South Cherokee Lane.

Hit and run: 1:49 p.m. — A woman went to an urgent care with minor injuries after she was hit by a car. The driver kept going in the 2300 block of West Kettleman Lane.

Usually you go outside: 8:30 p.m. — People were setting off fireworks in their house in the 900 block of South Fairmont Avenue.

Creeper: 10:38 p.m. — A caller said he was concerned about a man who claims to sit in the corner of his yard at night with a gun to protect himself and his property in the 800 block of North Stockton Street.


Bad driver: 7:44 p.m. — A male driver hit three vehicles and then kept going in the 300 block of Acacia Street.

Stolen bike on Craigslist: 8 a.m. — Someone stole a tricycle from a caller in the 200 block of Maple Street who then saw it listed on Craigslist.

Found gun: 11:13 a.m. — People found a rifle on the side of their house in the 2900 block of South Cherokee Lane.

Unsafe nap: 11:56 a.m. — There was an unconscious man laying on the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Washington Street.

Messing around: 12:07 p.m. — A man was messing with an electrical box in the 800 block East Kettleman Lane.

Lost and found: 12:48 p.m. — Someone found a computer and a bag of stuff on the front lawn in the 800 block of Virginia Avenue.

Fake gun: 6:37 p.m. — A neighborhood kid with a black fake handgun started a fight with a caller's son in the 800 block of Rutledge Drive.


Stolen copper: 12:49 a.m. — Copper was stolen from Geweke Dodge in the 1300 block of South Beckman Road.

Unlucky 14: 6:28 a.m. — Multiple vehicles had the number "14" spraypainted on them in the 200 block of East Tokay Street.
