Between the hours of 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday, the Lodi Police Department received 127 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Drenched: 8:55 a.m. — A very sweaty man in a red shirt and jeans was running along the 200 block of Main Street.

Grab a leash: 11:33 a.m. — Six dogs were running loose on the 100 block of East Pine Street.

Weird: 11:54 a.m. — A man was hitting and yelling at a tree on the 300 block of East Locust Street.

Squirrel hunting: 12:25 p.m. — Subjects were shooting at squirrels in the Lodi Lake Nature Area on the 1100 block of West Turner Road.

Family affair: 1:32 p.m. — A family was panhandling near McDonald's on the 2300 block of West Kettleman Lane.

Suspicious: 1:53 p.m. — A man was trying to get into a home through the front door and then the garage on the 300 block of East Locust Street, and acting like he was on a cellphone when cars came by.

Fight: 6:55 p.m. — A group of juveniles and adults were fighting on the 200 block of Poplar Street.

Smoke gets in your eyes: 8:13 p.m. — A backyard fire pit was causing smoke to drift into a neighboring house on the 1800 block of Scarborough Drive.

Looking like a fool: 9:58 p.m. — A young man was walking around with his pants down on the 1000 block of Wintun Drive.


Smashed: 12:53 a.m. — A man broke a window with his hand at his ex-girlfriend's house on the 1500 block of Church Street.

Alone and blue: 7:04 a.m. — A blue bike was abandoned in a parking lot for three days on the 200 block of West Elm Street.
