Since 8 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department received 172 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:
Vandalism: 8:38 a.m. — Construction equipment was vandalized on the 100 block of East Tokay Street.
Funny money: 9:41 a.m. — A counterfeit $20 bill was found on the 100 block of West Lodi Avenue.
Suspicious behavior: 11:12 a.m. — A female tried to open a fake account with a phony driver’s license on the 2200 block of West Kettleman Lane. The woman left but her license was confiscated.
Not good: 11:28 a.m. — A black male with bleached blonde hair stepped out of a white Ford Mustang on the 200 block of West Lodi Avenue and tucked a hatchet into his belt loop before entering a business.
Welfare check: 2:20 p.m. — A caller on the 900 block of West Kettleman Lane said she sees signs of her new neighbor “being a predator.”
Puff, puff, pass: 5:37 p.m. — Seven juveniles were smoking marijuana on the 300 block of East Elm Street.
What’s Curious George like in real life?: 10:28 p.m. — A white male in a yellow shirt was panhandling on the 200 block of West Lockeford Street.
Animal call: 5:05 a.m. — A cat struck by a vehicle on the 800 block of South Sacramento Street was clinging to life.
