The following is a sample of police and fire calls received by Lodi Police dispatchers in the 48 hours after 9 a.m. Saturday:
10:12 a.m. — Someone used a key to scrape gang graffiti into a vehicle in the 500 block of East Pine Street.
12:32 p.m. — A woman was walking up and down Vine Street near Fairmont Avenue. The woman, who appeared to be disoriented, wore a blue scarf.
2:17 p.m. — Underage people were drinking and using bicycles in the Skate Park, 1100 S. Ham Lane. Bicycles are allowed, and police did not locate any drinkers.
Dead plant theft
2:39 p.m. — Someone stole an old wheelbarrow full of dead plants and dirt from a front yard in the 800 block of Stevens Way.
3:17 p.m. — Two storage sheds were burglarized in the 500 block of South Main Street.
3:50 p.m. — Someone dropped off suspicious papers at the Star Bar, 22 S. Main St.
Determined marijuana smokers
5:13 p.m. — After a man and woman were asked to stop smoking marijuana near a pool in the 2200 block of Oxford Way, the man started an argument. The left in a gray Chevrolet Tahoe.
Robbed of a chain
5:26 p.m. — Two males robbed someone of a chain with the name "David" on it in the 500 block of Eden Street. One suspect wore all white, and the other wore a black sweater and black gloves.
7:20 p.m. — After snorting white powder in the 1300 block of South Stockton Street, people headed north in a charcoal-gray Ford Focus that had a heart on it.
7:27 p.m. — A man was punching dogs in the 100 block of South Hutchins Street. He told police he didn't punch any dogs, but that he did have to separate dogs that were fighting.
Suspicious man with ladder
9:43 p.m. — A man had a ladder and backpack at a vacant building in the 100 block of South Cherokee Lane. He'd been dropped off by someone driving an El Camino. Police arrested a 48-year-old man for possession of a hypodermic needle.
9:46 p.m. — Someone stole a 1993 Plymouth vehicle in the 800 block of South Washington Street.
9:47 p.m. — A vehicle crashed in the 1400 block of Champagne Court. Police arrested the 27-year-old driver for driving under the influence, hit-and-run, having no insurance and failing to obey a police officer. They also arrested a 22-year-old man for public intoxication.
10:32 p.m. — Four males were fighting in the 400 block of Poplar Street.
Fight, alcohol included
1:24 a.m. — Two males were fighting in the 100 block of North Sacramento Street. One of them was arrested for public intoxication.
10:51 a.m. — Child molestation was reported. Police later arrested a 40-year-old man.
11:07 a.m. — A vehicle was stolen in the 300 block of East Tokay Street.
1:48 p.m. — A 26-year-old man was caught shoplifting at Rancho San Miguel Market, 620 S. Cherokee Lane.
'Strung out' woman
2:11 p.m. — A woman appeared to be "strung out" inside a white Ford car in the 2300 block of West Kettleman Lane. Mental health issues were involved.
6:31 p.m. — Police went to stand by during a child exchange on Hummingbird Drive, and in the process arrested the 39-year-old father on a warrant.
Flag pole swing
7:03 p.m. — Juveniles were using the rope from a flag pole as a swing at Lawrence Elementary School, 721 Calaveras St. Police advised them to stay off school property.
7:58 p.m. — A male was throwing rocks from the railroad tracks that cross Turner Road.
9:22 p.m. — About 10 possible gang members were fighting in the roadway at Garfield and Eden streets. No weapons were seen.
9:35 p.m. — A 45-year-old woman was arrested after a domestic altercation on Sunwest Drive.
Loud marijuana smokers
10:08 p.m. — Five people were continuously smoking marijuana and being loud in the 800 block of South Cherokee Lane.
10:48 p.m. — Seven juveniles were loitering in the 800 block of Lloyd Street and refusing to leave.
10:52 p.m. — Someone tried to run over a man and his friend in an alley off Elm Street and Central Avenue. The vehicle was traveling at about 50 mph.
Kidnapping, or not?
4:03 a.m. — A man went to USA Gas, 35 N. Cherokee, and said he'd been kidnapped two days earlier. When police arrived, the 25-year-old told officers he hadn't been kidnapped, but that he had violated his parole and was ready to go back to prison. Police arrested him.
Theft of donations
7:19 a.m. — Someone stole clothing and a night stand that had been left out for a charitable organization in the 100 block of South Crescent Avenue.
8:34 a.m. — A woman thought her South School Street window had been glued shut sometime in the last hour.
9:02 a.m. — Two Concord Street teens refused to go to school.
