Between the hours of 8 a.m. Friday and 8:08 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department received 426 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Playing on playground: 5:38 p.m. — Ten to 15 male juveniles were seen on a playground in the southeast portion of St. Peter’s School, 2400 Oxford Drive. The caller wanted them to leave.

Seven-hour drive? 8:04 p.m. — Someone reported a minivan with three men driving through the neighborhood of Carriage Drive and Lexington Way. They had been wandering through the area since 1 p.m.


Gang activity? 12:33 a.m. — About 20 people described as “gang types,” possibly armed, were at a residence in the 400 block of Concord Street to start a disturbance.

Crowded neighborhood: 12:47 a.m. — About 30 people were seen inside and outside a residence in the 500 block of Forrest Avenue. It was unknown if any of them were carrying weapons.

Lot of gunshots: 7:18 a.m. — Someone heard about 15 gunshots during a five-minute period in the 1900 block of South Church Street.

Activity under freeway: 8:35 a.m. — A grass fire was reported under Highway 99 near Turner Road.

More gunshots: 8:43 p.m. — Someone reported hearing three gunshots from an alley near East Oak and South Washington streets.


Shooting from roof: 11:43 a.m. — Several juveniles, possibly carrying a pellet gun, were on a rooftop at Flame and Creekside drives. They were reportedly shooting an unknown object in the street.

On top of the restroom: 1:07 p.m. — About six juveniles were seen on the roof of some restrooms in the 300 block of North Washington Street.

Reckless driving: 4:53 p.m.— An off-duty California Highway Patrol officer reported that a Woodbridge Pizza driver was driving recklessly through the neighborhood in the 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive. The off-duty officer confronted the driver, who simulated a gun and threatened to shoot him. The driver then left the area.
