Between the hours of 8 a.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday the Lodi Police Department received 123 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.


Phony business: 8:20 a.m. — A phone found in a parking lot contained messages regarding the purchase of drugs on the 800 block of South Ham Lane and West Vine Street.

Hide and seek: 10:58 a.m. — A man wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and a backwards baseball cap was looking into vehicles in the parking lot of the 300 block of South Lower Sacramento Road.

Crazy encounter: 12:13 p.m. — A homeless male harassed a family in a vehicle. Afterwards, he was confronted and challenged to a fight on the 900 block of North Church Street and West Turner Road.

Campfire: 12:43 p.m. — A log was burning in front of a residence on the 100 block of South Crescent Avenue.

Mail service: 1:29 p.m. — A daughter reported her mother for opening her mail on the 300 block of East Lodi Avenue.

Nap time: 3:44 p.m. — An intoxicated male was laying on the grass in front of a business on the 1300 block of South Cherokee Lane.

Wanna fight?: 4:51 p.m. — A juvenile was cursing and trying to start a fight with other juveniles in a park on the 100 block of South Hutchins Street.

Party in the park: 9:51 p.m. — A group of loud individuals were reported close to the Rose Street side of a park on the 100 block of South Hutchins Street.

Face off: 11:03 p.m. — A man was following the caller, then stood in front of them and yelled at them on the 500 block of South School Street.


Unwanted neighbors: 3:58 a.m. — The caller heard someone in the house next door, which should be vacant, on the 300 block of East Elm Street.

Garbage day: 5:18 a.m. — A woman on a bike was seen going into yards and taking items out of the trash on the 500 block of East Walnut Street.

Caught in the act: 7:52 a.m. — A man wearing a black shirt and jacket was trying to enter the caller's home on the 2300 block of Tejon Street.
