In the hours after 9 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department received 337 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:


Probably not Santa: 9:34 a.m. — A man with a gray beard and dressed in homeless garb was begging and bothering people in the 200 block of South School Street.

Oh no, opossum: 12:25 p.m. — A sick or injured opossum was reported in the 500 block of South Lee Avenue.

Hold your fire: 2:50 p.m. — A boy was pointing a toy gun at cars in the 100 block of West Vine Street. He was part of a big group.

Those aren't yours: 3:57 p.m. — A man wanted advice about getting his ex-girlfriend to return some of his belongings and his house key. In the 2000 block of Sylvan Way.

Rolling deep: 6:02 p.m. — Four juveniles were in a go-cart on the street with no lights on in the 2300 block of Giannoni Way.

Show off: 9:22 p.m. — Subjects were revving a vehicle's engine in a garage in the 1800 block of Alder Tree Lane.


Trashing the place: 5:05 a.m. — A 70-year-old man was in a dumpster and making a mess in the 2300 block of West Kettleman Lane.

It's five o'clock somewhere: 8:06 a.m. — People were drinking at the East end of a building in the 600 block of East Victor Road.

What gave you that idea?: 11:25 a.m. — A caller said a man with dreadlocks approached him and tried to sell him electronic equipment in the 100 block of Adobe Court. The caller believed the items might be stolen.

Hit by arrow: 4:30 p.m. — A juvenile was accidentally shot with an arrow in the 600 block of Rutledge Drive.

Selling High Times? 5:33 p.m. — A caller said subjects were trying to sell magazines in the 1800 block of Amber Leaf Way, and they smelled like marijuana.

Not a bored meeting: 6:47 p.m. — A board meeting was packed to capacity in the 1300 block of East Vine Street, and the caller said the members were starting to get rowdy.

You got caught: 11:36 p.m. — A caller said a man on a mountain bike cut the lock to his gate in the 1400 block of West Lockeford Street, but fled when the caller confronted him.


Rise and shine: 6:28 a.m. — A caller complained of gardeners using leaf blowers in the 200 block of West Lodi Avenue.

Some people never learn: 12:16 p.m. — Two females who had shoplifted before were back in a business in the 500 block of South Cherokee Lane. The caller said they were concealing items.

More for the naughty list: 1:57 p.m. — Three or four juveniles taped a boy to a pole with duct tape in the 2000 block of South Stockton Street.

Like throwing money away: 6:07 p.m. — Gas was poured into a gutter in the 2400 block of West Tokay Street.

The nets play midfield: 7:02 p.m. — A caller said subjects were playing soccer on tennis courts in the 100 block of Evergreen Drive. The caller was concerned for the nets.

Time to move on: 9:57 p.m. — A man said his daughter's boyfriend was knocking at his door and refused to leave in the 2300 block of West Tokay Street.


A little obvious: 6:19 a.m. — Two men were possibly stripping a vehicle in a parking lot in the 5200 block of East Kettleman Lane.
