Between the hours of 8 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department received 430 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls.
No gas: 11:17 a.m. — Someone said he put $10 into a gas pump at a station in the 800 block of East Kettleman Lane. It didn't dispense any gasoline, and an employee reportedly refused to return the customer's money.
Tell me about guns: 11:39 a.m. — Someone came into the police department lobby, asking to talk to an officer about gun laws.
Gunshots at car: 9:05 p.m. — People shot at a car and chipped a car window in the 200 block of East Lockeford Street. Officers found the suspects in a parking lot at North Washington and East Lockeford streets.
This time a rock: 9:14 p.m. — Someone threw a rock at a vehicle in the 300 block of North Washington Street. That vehicle also had a cracked windshield.
"Spy" spotted: 12:31 p.m. — A man in an old green Pontiac said he's a private investigator. He was in the 800 block of Tilden Drive near West Vine Street.
Suspicious questioner: 4:22 p.m. — A woman in the 2400 block of Corbin Lane told a resident that she was representing Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and wanted to see the resident's utility bill. The resident thought it was an odd question.
Reckless driving: 7:42 — Someone nearly hit some children while doing some burnouts in a vehicle behind an apartment complex in the 100 block of Swain Drive near South Church Street.
Bar fight: 11:51 p.m. — Ten to 20 people were in an old-fashioned bar fight with chairs being thrown at a restaurant in the 18900 block of North Sacramento Road in Woodbridge. San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputies requested help from Lodi police.
Need money for dog food: 4:16 p.m. — A man in his 40s solicited customers in the 300 block of South Cherokee Lane to clean their windows. He said he needs the money to feed his dog.
