In the 24 hours since 9 a.m. Thursday, the Lodi Police Department handled 159 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers.


Sexual Assault

6:44 a.m.: Sexual assault was reported on Central Avenue.

Bicycling wine thief

8:33 a.m.: A woman pedaled away on a bicycle after stealing a two-gallon jug of wine from Lodi Avenue Liquor, 1000 W. Lodi Ave.

Truant Teen

8:51 a.m.: A York Street resident did not want to go to Tokay High School, 1111 W. Century Blvd.

Grand Theft

9:01 a.m.: Property valued at more than $400 was stolen from a vehicle at San Joaquin Winery, 1649 Victor Road.



11:20 a.m.: Someone made threats at Millswood Middle School, 233 N. Mills Ave.

Lawn care woes

11:41 a.m.: Lawn equipment was stolen at the Lodi Grape Festival, 413 E. Lockeford St.

Cleanliness, at what cost?

12:12 p.m.: A transient was exposing himself while washing up near Cluff Avenue and Pine Street.

Vehicle theft arrest

12:26 p.m.: Officers assisted the California Highway Patrol, who stopped a stolen vehicle and arrested a man on Woodhaven Lane north of Turner Road.

Elder Abuse

1:09 p.m.: Someone dialed 9-1-1 from a South Lee Avenue home and said nothing. Police arrived and arrested a man for elder abuse.

Threats from an ex

2:48 p.m.: A soon-to-be-ex-husband made death threats in the 800 block of West Harney Lane.

Student Threats

3:06 p.m.: A student threatened the life of another student's mother at Reese School, 1800 W. Elm St.

Vehicle Crash

4:48 p.m.: Minor injuries were reported in a vehicle collision at Tokay and Hutchins streets.

Endangered Sprayers

5:59 p.m.: Two boys, ages 4 and 10, were spraying passing vehicles with a hose and squirt guns at Stockton and Poplar streets. A passerby was worried they would get hit.

Threats, minus a shirt

7:17 p.m.: A shirtless man threatened another man at Star Market, 741 S. Cherokee Lane.

Child Abuse

8:01 p.m.: Child abuse was reported.

Crying Caller

8:24 p.m.: A man, who sounded very drunk, was crying on a 9-1-1 call in the 0-100 block of West Tokay Street.

Shirt Required

8:57 p.m.: A man was very upset that he must put on a shirt before entering Rancho San Miguel Market, 620 S. Cherokee Lane.

Gun Brandishing

9:40 p.m.: A man pulled a small gun on someone in the 500 block of East Oak Street.

Red light runner

10:21 p.m.: A white truck with "Act Transportation" on the side ran two red lights while heading west on Kettleman Lane near Stockton Street.
