In the hours after 9 a.m. Thursday, the Lodi Police Department received 575 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:

Thursday

Can’t be good for service: 10:14 a.m. — Copper wiring was reported stolen from a MetroPCS cell phone tower in the 3000 block of West Turner Road.

It’s just a little madness: 3:21 p.m. — A caller said a man with a red cart was pounding on a fence in the 200 block of West Locust Street, scaring kids passing by. He was then throwing items on the ground and pacing back and forth.

Yer in trouble, pardner: 3:28 p.m. — A man wearing a cowboy hat was driving a green Honda erratically in the 200 block of North Cherokee Lane.

Motorized mini-bike marathon: 4:28 p.m. — A juvenile on a mini-bike was driving up and down the street in the 1600 block of South Sacramento Street, making a lot of noise.

The friendly one can stay: 9:43 p.m. — A caller said two pit bulls were loose in the 1400 block of West Locust Street. One was friendly and the other was aggressive, the caller said.

Friday

Dog had plumber backed up?: 11:04 a.m. — A stray vicious pit bull was refusing to let a plumber leave a residence in the 1400 block of Mariposa Way.

Jilted Jacuzzi: 1:14 p.m. — An abandoned hot tub was on the sidewalk in the 700 block of East Century Boulevard.

Beer run: 5:23 p.m. — A man and woman stole beer in the 200 block of North Cherokee Lane.

How’d you manage that?: 6:37 p.m. — A caller said they had the person who stole their cell phone in handcuffs in the 100 block of North Cherokee Lane.

Hitchhikers ... FROM MARS: 11:04 p.m. — Two men with flashing lights around their chests were asking people for rides in the 2400 block of West Kettleman Lane.

Saturday

Highly inappropriate: 11:21 a.m. — A man in a yellow shirt exposed himself and urinated in a doorway in the 0 block of South Sacramento Street.

Isn’t that what it’s for?: 2:28 p.m. — A caller said a possible football game was happening on a field in the 400 block of East Lockeford Street.

Who thought that was a good idea?: 6:26 p.m. — Someone in the 200 block of West Lodi Avenue called about buying a credit card machine from someone on Craigslist.

Pooch-napped: 7:16 p.m. — A caller’s dog was stolen in the 300 block of East Lodi Avenue, and they suspected their brother’s ex.

Sunday

Or he’s just really tired: 4:47 a.m. — A possibly drunk man was sleeping in front of a bathroom in the 400 block of West Kettleman Lane, covered with a blanket.

Theft fail: 1:01 p.m. — Someone tried to steal $195 worth of groceries in the 600 block of South Cherokee Lane, then left without the groceries.

Perhaps a little paranoid: 9:25 p.m. — A caller believed someone took a light bulb out of a light fixture in their backyard in the 2500 block of Melby Drive.

Never argue with the bartender: 10:56 p.m. — A customer was causing a disturbance with a bartender in the 100 block of West Pine Street.
