Since 8 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department received 160 calls for service. Below is a sample of those calls:
A little early in the year to start that: 8:23 a.m. — A child won’t go to school in the 400 block of East Elm Street.
Chatting and peeing: 8:43 a.m. — A man was talking to himself and urinating on a building near a car wash in the 1100 block of East Kettleman Lane.
Maybe it had bedbugs?: 12:48 p.m. — A mattress was blocking a lane in the 1900 block of West Lodi Avenue.
Probably should have figured that out: 3:14 p.m. — A woman gave an attorney $11,000, and he is not handling her case in the 900 block of West Lodi Avenue.
Possible transient: 3:58 p.m. — There was a “possible transient” inside a building that should be vacant.
A bad thief: 4:29 p.m. — There was a woman wearing stolen clothing under her clothes in the 500 block of South Cherokee Lane.
Turf wars: 4:31 p.m. — A business owner assaulted another business owner in the 1000 block of West Kettleman Lane.
Yappy dog pushes neighbor over the edge: 5:05 p.m. — A neighbor was throwing rat poison at the caller’s dog in the 2100 block of West Elm Street.
Shots fired: 5:22 p.m. — A male fired shots at two other males in a grey Ford pickup with a camper in the 700 block of South Sacramento Street.
Drunken stubbornness: 5:36 p.m. — There was a drunk person on the caller’s porch refusing to leave in the 200 block of Oriole Lane.
It’s all fun and games until …: 6:25 p.m. — A neighbor’s son grabbed a steak knife and chased the caller’s child in the 500 block of Pioneer Drive.
Get some sunglasses: 6:52 p.m. — There was a large white diesel truck driving in the bike lane in the 1900 block of West Kettleman Lane. The caller believes the driver cannot see with the sun in his eyes.
Need some soap: 8:28 p.m. — A group of five girls and one male in their early teens were “speaking obscenities” and being loud.
Smashing windows: 1:31 a.m. — A caller heard someone smashing windows in the 1100 block of West Lockeford Street.
Late-night car washing: 2:29 a.m. — A male and a female were wiping down a vehicle and then ducked behind the car when someone drove by in the 600 block of Cardinal Street.
