99 accident

Posted: Monday, March 6, 2006 10:00 pm

Lodi Fire Capt. Scott Thomas and Capt. Pete Iturraran pull the hood off of a UHAUL truck as firefighter David Laughlin uses the Jaws-of-Life to detach the metal Monday morning. The driver of the vehicle and his son were moving to Oregon as they headed north on Highway 99 around 8 a.m. They began to skid at the Victor Road on-ramp and lost control of the truck. The father and son then landed on the embankment. There was extensive damage to the guardrail, but no one was injured. CalTrans was called to repair the rail. Lodi Police closed the on-ramp and the vehicle was towed around 10:15 a.m. (Jennifer M. Howell/News-Sentinel)
