Reducing blight in Lodi

Posted: Saturday, October 3, 2009 12:00 am

Debris remains from the demolition of an abandoned building on Elm Street just east of the railroad tracks. Demolition crews were still working Friday afternoon to remove the building debris. Lodi bought the building from the Walters Family Trust in 2002 for $100,000 with the intention of reducing blight in the city by demolishing the building, according to city spokesman Jeff Hood. The demolition cost $95,000. (Dan Evans/News-Sentinel)
