The Lodi Boys and Girls Club cut a red ribbon on Friday, June 28, 2013, inaugurating its updated computer center. Executive Director Eddie Cotton, left, praised the fundraising work done by volunteer Barbara Brovelli, right, cutting the ribbon. She called on friends, former directors and other donors, prompting gifts of $10,000. The new all-in-one computers cost $4,200, and another $5,800 will pay for supplies used in the club’s programs. Starting Friday, club members can use the new computers to play an array of games and use the Internet on a restricted basis. In the future, Cotton anticipates older members will receive instruction in word processing, spreadsheets and video editing on the new hardware.
