A cellphone argument led to a stabbing at a Lodi park, according to Lodi police.
Officers from the Lodi Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing with one man down at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Lawrence Park on Lockeford Street.
They arrived to find Nickanor Gonzales of Lodi on the ground, suffering from a single stab wound to the chest.
Gonzales and a suspect were arguing over a cellphone when the suspect allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Gonzales in the chest. Gonzales fell to the ground and the suspect fled the scene, police said.
No arrests have been made.
Gonzales was transported by ambulance to Lodi Memorial Hospital and will remain there for three days for observation. Hospital officials said his wound was not life threatening, according to Lodi police.
