City of Lodi may toughen animal control ordinance regarding pit bulls

More U.S. cities are acting to control or ban dogs deemed vicious — especially pit bulls

The city of Lodi, their dysfunctional and pandering city council and management team, along with LPD can't even control the gang drug and crime problem in the two square miles or so of east Lodi, more or less a dog control program, in my opinion and would have to probably have to hire tow new "doggie" officers" along with their two park patrol "specialists and finding the funding would only mean loading up the police budget with more money to waste that should be spent on drugs, gangs violence and crime instead of those petty west side park vandals and taggers.

I am glad Lodi is looking into an ordinance. There are too many lovely dogs that are available to have for a pet. Pits and Pit bull mixes are getting the bad rap for irresponsible owners behaviors, but society is put into danger from both, the owner and the dog. A strong action needs to be put in place. A $500,000 liability insurance policy sounds wonderful, but most could not afford it, or how would that be monitored?
