Suspect in Galt shooting, standoff remains in hospital

The Galt man who police believe fatally shot a Sacramento County animal control officer remained hospitalized Friday.
Joseph Corey, 65, is expected to be released from a Sacramento hospital today, taken to Sacramento County jail and booked on murder charges, according to Galt Police Lt. Jim Uptegrove.
