Galt police arrested three men who they said attempted to enter a home and then fled from police on Wednesday morning.

The Galt Police Department received a call that two men were trying to break into a residence in the 500 block of Hamstead Drive at around 9 a.m. The victim yelled at the suspects to leave, and said that the two men ran to a white Pontiac sedan driven by another man.

Officers spotted a vehicle matching the description driving north on Highway 99 and attempted to stop the car north of Elk Grove Boulevard. The vehicle started leading them on a high-speed chase, police said, exiting west on Sheldon. The suspects crashed into a fence in a residential neighborhood west of Highway 99 before fleeing on foot, according to Galt police.

Officers set up a perimeter and said all three suspects were arrested within minutes. A Sacramento police K-9 bit one of the suspects.
