The Loewen Chapel on the campus of Lodi Academy will be screening the award-winning film "Hell and Mr. Fudge" on Friday, Oct. 19 at 8:15 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m.
Earlier this year the film won the platinum award as the best Christian feature at the Houston International Film Festival. The film is based on the life of theologian Edward Fudge; the movie dramatizes the controversies that made him a maverick in his own evangelical church.
Tackling the traditional Christian view of hell and everlasting torments for sinners, Fudge digs out the surprising origins of the hell superstition. He confronts his own personal prejudices as his research leads him in unexpected directions.
The film's co-producer Jim Wood will host the screenings. For more information on the film, visit www.hellandfudge.com.
