Claims filed for broken arm, lost items, damage from falling tree

Here are some recent claims filed against San Joaquin County:

Nov. 28, 2010: Maher Abadir, of Modesto, wants to be compensated for breaking his arm after tripping on a curb and falling on the way to his car at Stockton Metropolitan Airport.

Dec. 1, 2010: Edson Ortiz, of Concord, claims that $7,000 worth of items were lost at county jail, where he was an inmate.

Dec. 7, 2010: Rita A. Ridgway, of Stockton, requested $1,932.27 after a tree fell on her car and house. Her 2008 Honda was reportedly totaled, and the corner of her roof and gutter were damaged, she said. Claim said the cost of a new 2011 Honda is $25,000, and her insurance company, Gucci, paid her $23,467.73.

Dec. 10, 2010: Malo Taafua, of Stockton, a counselor at Mary Graham’s Children’s Center in Stockton, claimed that a minor who lived at the shelter admitted spraying hand sanitizing foam on Taafua’s red pick-up truck in the parking lot at the shelter because the youth was upset with him.

Dec. 29, 2010: Rosie Rodriguez, of Stockton, claims that she was improperly selected for layoff in what she thought was retaliation for protesting improper procedures and behavior in the county’s clerk of the board office. Damages estimated at $25,000.

Jan. 3, 2011: Marion and James Jones claimed that Marion Jones received negligent treatment at San Joaquin General Hospital on May 23, 2010.

Jan. 6, 2011: Andrea McNight, of Stockton, claims that her wedding band was missing after being released from San Joaquin County Jail on Oct. 28, 2010. She says the wedding band was worth $318.56.

    Doug, I'm just so surprised that you are so critical of the LNS. It's really the only place left you have to blog. Lodi Wire and the Elk Grove sites (Eyes of Argus and Capitol Elector) went upside down and no one reads the blogs on the Record (Richie Rich) anymore since you need to subscribe. You should be a little more appreciative.
