On Tuesday, Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton, introduced the Improving Broadband Access for Veterans Act of 2017.

This bipartisan legislation, which is co-sponsored by Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Illinois, directs the Federal Communications Commission to examine the current state of veterans’ access to broadband internet services. It also requires the FCC to analyze how to increase access for veterans, especially those in low-income and rural areas.
