Several school teams from the Lodi Unified School District recently placed highly in the San Joaquin County Science Olympiad.
There were 13 high school teams and 17 junior high teams for a total of about 300 participants.
Individual medals were given out to students earning first through third places in each event. The top five teams in each division received medals, a team plaque, and a grant for the purchase of science materials.
The teams, and the names of the students, from the Lodi Unified School District that placed highly in the county science Olympiad are as follows:
1st: Elkhorn Gold, $650

5th: Lodi Middle Blue, $100

The Elkhorn Gold, Lodi Middle Blue, Tokay High Purple, and Bear Creek High Silver teams will represent San Joaquin County at the NorCal State Competition on April 24, at the California State University, Sacramento. Teams from Franklin High and Hamilton Middle schools will also represent the county.
