A possible burglary led to a car chase that ended in Lodi on Friday morning.

Around 10 a.m., San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department received a call that someone had interrupted suspects in the middle of an attempted burglary on the 2400 block of West Peltier Road.

The caller then chased the suspects in a vehicle, but lost them in the area of Davis Road and Highway 12, according to Les Garcia, a spokesman for the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.

Garcia said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Six county Sheriff's cars did stop one driver, a woman, in the parking lot of In-N-Out on Lower Sacramento Road.

It is unclear whether she was taken into custody as of press time.

The highway remained closed for part of the morning, causing traffic to back up in both directions.
