Stock up on hot chocolate. Those clouds Lodi saw rolling in on Thursday afternoon were the precursor to three storm systems moving into the Central Valley, said Mike Pigott, a meteorologist with Accuweather.com, a private forecasting service.
The first low-pressure system covered the city on Thursday night, and was expected to bring rain around 4 a.m. this morning.
The rain is expected to continue off and on throughout the day, with heavy cloud cover and temperatures of no higher than 64 degrees. The evening will likely remain stormy, with a low of 53 degrees.
Another system is set to move in late on Saturday, continuing the showers and chills predicted for today. The rain should taper off later on Sunday with scattered showers through the day.
One more system will come near Lodi on Monday, but this one will hit harder north of the area. Pigott said any possible rain will be focused on the upper Sacramento Valley.
