Police are still investigating why a friend stabbed a fellow gang member in the neck late Tuesday night, according to Lodi police.
The victim was working on his bike in the 300 block of East Walnut Street around 10 p.m. when a fellow Sureno gang member approached, Lodi Police Sgt. Eric VerSteeg said.
Without warning, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to San Joaquin General Hospital and is expected to survive, Versteeg said.
No arrests have been made, and Versteeg said the investigation is ongoing.
