Two women were arrested Friday after police chased a Honda that had been reported stolen.

Stockton-area California Highway Patrol officers said they saw the vehicle traveling west on Highway 12 east of Interstate 5. After they attempted to stop the vehicle, they said it continued west on Highway 12 at a high rate of speed.

According to a press release from the CHP, the driver fled the vehicle after it went onto the shoulder and led officers on a foot chase through an irrigation canal and into an orchard, where she was apprehended. Immediately after the passenger exited the vehicle, she was taken into custody. The vehicle then rolled to a stop unoccupied.

The pursuit did not result in any injuries or damage to any property, police said.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
