If you want to help needy children while seeing a Stockton Thunder hockey game for free or getting a discount on an oil change, the California Highway Patrol is collecting for an annual toy drive. Or you may simply donate a toy in Lodi.

The CHiPS for Kids program, in connection with KCRA 3, is collecting toys through Monday. Now in its 10th year, the toy drive netted 40,000 toys last year, according to the CHP, and they were distributed to hospitalized and disadvantaged children throughout San Joaquin County.
