The Alameda County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the 22-year-old Galt woman killed in a vehicle crash in Pleasanton as Samantha Emslander.
Emslander was a passenger in a 2002 Chrysler convertible when it drifted on the right side of northbound Interstate 680 near Bernal Avenue, went down an embankment and landed in a concrete ditch, according to the Dublin office of the California Highway Patrol. The accident took place at 12:20 a.m. Saturday.
Emslander was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a CHP report. The driver, Megan Susanah Emslander, 20, also from Galt, was treated for minor injuries at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley. She was then arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and taken into custody at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, according to the CHP.
Megan Emslander was being held on $100,000 bail, according to the jail website.
The accident remained under investigation Monday.
