SANTA CLARA — Two jurors who requested a second reading of the defense attorney’s closing arguments on behalf of convicted murderer Wesley Shermantine Jr., were looking for something positive about Shermantine.
“They were looking for some mitigating factor,” prosecuting attorney Thomas Testa said after Friday’s verdict to sentence Shermantine to death. “Even after hearing that, they found nothing good.”
